This privacy policy describes how the Virtu Board Importer Chrome extension ("Extension") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use it with your Virtu account.
Summary
The Extension helps you import images and screenshots from websites into your Virtu boards. It only processes data needed to authenticate you with Virtu and upload images you explicitly choose to import. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Information We Collect
Authentication information
When you are logged in to app.virtu3d.ai, the Extension reads your Virtu session token from that site's local storage (via a content script) and stores it locally in Chrome extension storage so API requests can be authenticated. The token is treated as stale after 24 hours inside the Extension.
Website content you choose to import
When you right-click an image, select images from the side panel, or capture a region of the current page, the Extension accesses the image URL or image bytes you selected so it can upload them to your Virtu account. The Extension does not collect page content you do not explicitly choose to import.
Usage-related data stored locally
The Extension may store on your device:
- Recent Virtu board (assortment) selections for quicker access
- Extension settings, including optional developer-mode environment preferences if enabled
- Pending import state while an upload is in progress
How We Use Information
We use the information above only to:
- Authenticate you with Virtu APIs
- List your Virtu boards so you can choose a destination
- Upload images you explicitly import to your selected Virtu board
- Show import progress and remember recent boards for convenience
Where Data Is Stored and Transmitted
The Extension does not transmit your data to third parties other than Virtu infrastructure required to provide the service.
- On your device: Auth token, settings, and recent boards are stored in chrome.storage.local.
- To Virtu servers: Auth tokens, image files, and board assignment requests are sent over HTTPS to Virtu API endpoints (for example api-prod-v1.virtu3d.ai). Data is handled according to your Virtu account and Virtu's main privacy practices.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with Virtu backend services needed to perform imports on your behalf.
Retention
- In the Extension: The auth token is considered expired after 24 hours of local age and must be refreshed by logging in to Virtu again.
- On Virtu servers: Uploaded images and board data are retained according to Virtu account policies. Contact Virtu support for account-level data questions.
Your Choices and Controls
You can:
- Stop using the Extension by disabling or uninstalling it from chrome://extensions/
- Revoke access by logging out of Virtu in your browser
- Clear local Extension data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing extension site data in Chrome settings
To request access to or deletion of data associated with your Virtu account, contact support@virtu3d.ai.
